چکیده

Hydraulic fracturing is a prospective technology for methane hydrate deposit exploitation. The evolution of hydraulically stimulated fractures around the point liquid injection simulated. For this purpose, FLAC3D computer model used because its explicit calculation cycle that imitates real physics, prevents numerical instability, and reproduces realistic path during simulation nonlinear rock massif behavior. results provide new findings, namely, spatial asymmetry synchronism violation, deviation, discontinuity, recurrence microseismic diffusion, which follow process hydraulic fracturing. In addition, dissipative structures were developed due to entropy production, since gas strata are an open thermodynamic system, transforms dissipates energy injected liquid. structure should be controlled enhance yield from hydrates.

Hydraulic fracturing not responsible for methane migration.

Although Osborn et al. (1) provided important geochemical measurements of dissolved methane in a portion of the Appalachian basin, their report does not fully appreciate the geologic history of this region and misrepresents potential risks of modern drilling and completion techniques used to develop shale-gas resources. The fear that hydraulic fracturing is responsible for methane migration fro...

SPE 140468-PP An Alternative Interpretation of Microseismic Events during Hydraulic Fracturing

It is common practice in industry to monitor hydraulic fracturing jobs by picking major, micro-earthquake events in seismograms whose source locations form a spatial pattern used for interpreting induced fractures. Surprisingly, controversy still surrounds the interpretation of these scattered, discrete events. Many authors conclude that hydraulic fractures are generated by shear failure events...

Estimating geomechanical parameters from microseismic plane focal mechanisms recorded during multistage hydraulic fracturing

We extend a full-waveform modeling method to invert source focal-plane mechanisms for microseismic data recorded with dual-borehole seismic arrays. Combining inverted focal-plane mechanisms with geomechanics knowledge, we map the pore pressure distribution in the reservoir. Determining focal mechanisms for microseismic events is challenging due to poor geometry coverage. We use the P-wave polar...

the effect of e-64 on the developmental competence of sheep cocs during in vitro maturation

in the present study, the effect of e-64 at different concentrations (0.5, 1, 5 and 10 µm) added to (1) the ivm medium on oocyte nuclear maturation and developmental competence of ovine oocytes, and (2) to the ivc medium on embryonic development of ovine embryos were investigated.

Fluid Flow through Heterogeneous Methane Hydrate- Bearing Sand: Observations Using X-ray Ct Scanning

The effects of porous medium heterogeneity on methane hydrate formation, water flow through the heterogeneous hydrate-bearing sand, and hydrate dissociation were observed in an experiment using a heterogeneous sand column with prescribed heterogeneities. X-ray computed tomography (CT) was used to monitor saturation changes in water, gas, and hydrate during hydrate formation, water flow, and hyd...
